My Favorite Restaurant with a view. This is my first time at this location but second time at this restaurant. I first went to the one in Plantation. I have never been disappointed here. The view, the service, the food.... Everything is wow. TIP:Reservations! This place is packed and with good reason. Went to a cute dinner with my friend and decided to wait for outside seating since the view was spectacular. We sat an in a patio area and ordered appetizers from there. We had Tuna Tartare. This is by far one of the best I've ever had. So fresh and the wonton strips but the cherry on top. One of the most exciting things here is the seasonal menu. They always have new fun things to try! Dinner Order: Ahi Tuna Steak with rice 7 out of 5 Amazing, Tuna steak lover must try !!! Yellowtail Snapper with rice Delicious! Dessert: Banana Bread Pudding Sweet Tooth must try! Everything exceeds expectation here. Perfect place for occasion whether it's happy hour, celebration dinner or date night!

Competent service by our nice server Kim , and delicious food. On the Florida Intracoastal so beautiful view of boats going by . Upon opening at 11:30 am on a weekend day , we waited in line for first come first serve to sit outside even with a reservation as it's an extremely popular restaurant ! We were seated at a very comfortable booth outside to celebrate a family member's birthday , but one less star for bringing your own "cake fee" per plate . Coffees served after the cake was served / eaten . Be aware no frozen cocktails are available by the water . The restaurant did add gluten free hamburger buns to their menu .

Kaluz is always a good choice. With the rain, the complimentary valet service came in clutch. The place was nice and quiet for lunch. Great view of the water. Our waiter was very polite and gave us the best service. I had the steak meatballs, the goat cheese flatbread and the salmon as a meal. The meatballs were great and very filling. Flatbread, delicious as well. Salmon is always a good choice. It was a nice size, flavorful, and it all paired well with the mashed potatoes. Keep it up Kaluz.

I come here often & enjoy many things about Kaluz. First of all- your on the intracostal, right by one of the drawbridges. The view is stunning. Yachts & boats pass through on the daily. There is also outdoor seating for an even closer view. Boaters can dock & come to dine as well. My most recent experience, was pouring out but it was still nice watching the waterway. There were 6 of us & we got a lovely round table by the water. I decided to have the power bowl- Tuna Poke' I doubled on the tuna but if you wanted shrimp or chicken, I could have done that. I gave Kaluz 5 stars because this lunch was excellent & also was enormous! I kept eating & eating-till I finally said I need a box. They are always consistent with the food & service. That's why I come here a lot!

Great location on the water. Patio is gorgeous with an amazing outdoor bar. Parking is best to just use valet as there isn't many available spots. Upon coming here we only had 40 minutes to eat before we had to leave. The amazing waitress Charolette was onboard with helping us get an amazing lunch quickly. She was a very attentive and awesome waitress. She even filled our drinks when she saw them getting low without us even asking. O really the food was phenomenal. From the sirloin flatbread, the bbq flatbread, the Thai noodle with shrimp and my friends foods; well they were all deeply pleasing dishes. Highly recommend eating here.

Super pretty views at night with great service!! Food was unremarkable and pretty average. We had a bunch of their seafood appetizers. Everyone's favorite by a landslide was the shrimp cargot. Ceviche was a runner up but I quickly got tired of the taste. The tuna tartare was one of the worst I've had, I would not get it. I'd come for the vibes more than the food.

Came for happy hour & stayed for the views! A great spot to grab dinner or happy hour in Fort Lauderdale. Parking is mostly valet but I lucked out and got one of the very few spots at the front without having to valet this time around. If the weather is nice, I definitely recommend sitting outside by the water. I visited for happy hour and we came right before the dinner rush and scored seats at the couches outside right next to the water. Our server was attentive and took our order right away. Of course, I grabbed a beer instead of a cocktail and also had to order a few bites- meatball slider and some guac & chips. I would note that the meatball slider is in fact just one slider and not a couple, which came as a surprise to us but we were at fault since we didn't read that it said slider instead of sliderS. Oops. The slider was good, regardless of it only being just one serving, and we were still able to share since the meatball itself was big. The guac & chips were pretty standard. Overall, a great spot to catch up with a friend or have a date night for dinner. I want to come back and try the dinner menu next visit!

It's been more than 7 years since my review first appeared on yelp, and it was so awesome that it received ROTD. Having visited the other night after a 4 year absence I thought it appropriate to provide an updated review. Simply put, not much has changed. The menu is basically the same, with daily "features" aka specials which rotate and frankly, are not that special. We dined early, arriving at 4pm midweek. There was torrential rain and blustery winds, and while it would have been jammed if it weee a sunny warm November day, it was just the opposite. The host joked and asked if we wanted one of their coveted outdoor tables that some will wait up to 45-60 minutes to get, we smiled and said "no, indoors will be just fine". We did indicate the area where we wanted to sit, which was in the ear near the windows. Our server was an attentive young man named Clark, and he too was in good humor when I asked him if he had a Superman outfit under his white shirt. While he said no, it would have been better if he had proved that he didn't. He did mention he had a telephone booth in the back, if he needed to make a quick change. We ordered a draft beer, bottle of sparkling water and some sort of girly sounding quasi martini drink. My husband didn't like the drink and I suggested he return it and order another. Rather than do that he finished it and then ordered a Stoli martini very dry with three olives. And that was more to his liking. We then ordered the coconut shrimp,!which I remember as being larger shrimp and a more tangy/spicy sauce. Ah, perhaps that is because everything used to be larger and more spicy, but frankly, while it was good, it wasn't great. The flame burnt artichoke special - ah - feature - was juicy, thick m, and aer Ed with a delicious sauce. If you're into artichokes, you'd like this. We each ordered broiled pork chops, the order comprised of two chops. When we asked to have it split in the kitchen, we were told there was an $8 surcharge, but we could then order another side (to be split) for that $8. Frankly, I try ought that was tacky, and just a way to get another $8. After all, what's the big deal in the kitchen to slap 2 chops on one plate vs one chop on two different plates. Upset the routine of the line cooks? Bi doubt it, just another surcharge to fall to the bottom line. Neither side of unloaded baked potatoes and asparagus were hot. The asparagus was cold while the baked potatoes were barely warm. We stopped eating the asparagus, and put it on a plate, but decided to eat the baked potato before it got colder. We asked Clark to take the asparagus away and bring a hot portion, which he did. They still looked evacuated, but they were cooked well The pork chop was small and not tender. I've had pork chops at J Alexanders and Seasons52, and they were far better at the same price point. When we return we will not review-order. We did order a wedge salad and jokingly asked if it could be split in the kitchen without incurring another $8 surcharge and Clark amenably said yes, he would bring extra plates. Well, that's not the same as having it split in the kitchen and brought out on 2 different plates. Frankly, that puzzles me. But such is the Kaluz way. The wedge salad was delicious. I'd definitely re-order it. So, service was admirable, food quality was not as good as I recalled, and the policy of not splitting plates without up charges is annoying. And the much needed valet is no longer free, $5 charge. With a tip, that's pricey for a Resturant which doesn't have sufficient parking on their property and uses an adjacent lot to park the valeted cars. If it seems like I'm focusing too much on charges, I guess that's because it was a focus of the dinner, rather than outstanding food. But the service should be rewarded, Clark was truly super! Note to management about those huge windows facing the intracoastal which were leaking water quite a bit in the rainstorm. Ask any engineer - if water can seep through, so can wind. There is clearly a breach in the rubber seal between frame and glass. I would not want to be sitting anywhere near there when hurricane force winds were in the area. And neither would you! I still rated a 4, because overall it deserves a high rating. But management should think about some of not all of the issues I raised.
